Since 1970, East End Cooperative Ministry has been building a community of opportunity in Pittsburgh’s East End.
We are dedicated to helping vulnerable adults and at-risk children and youth throughout our East End neighborhoods. An interfaith ministry, EECM seeks to make a difference in the lives of the individuals and families it serves by tending to their needs for today as well as their hopes for tomorrow.

'Racial Justice through Human Rights' Youth Group

Students between the ages of 16 and 18 are encouraged to be a part of an exciting experience as they explore issues of human rights and racial justice.  Last year's group worked to get Pittsburgh declared a 'Human Rights City', the fifth such declaration in the country.  The idea of a 'Human Rights City' is that citizens and the local government work together for the betterment of all in the community.  This work will continue through various projects thought up and carried out by the youth.
